‘At Sea – Shark Bay Blue Swimmer Crabs’ is the latest painting in my Gascoyne Food series as Artist-in-Residence for the Gascoyne Food Council. It’s part of the line up for my upcoming exhibition ‘From the Source – A Landscape of Food’ at the Carnarvon Community Art Space from 6 – 18 August during the Gascoyne Food Festival.
Thank you so much to Mitch and the crew @westcoastcrabs for allowing me to check out their new season catch of Blue Swimmer Crabs and to take loads of research pics in preparation for this painting. It’s been a pleasure to meet the hard working people behind the food during this project. I couldn’t resist sneaking one of them into a painting. Must do it again!
